AB Mannes has been working with writers and producers in several non credited consulting capacities (such as working with talent, sitting in the writer's room, and advising wardrobe designers, prop masters, and location scouts) as a technical advisor on law enforcement topics since 2003. After punching up several screenplays, Ben organized some of the current and former law enforcement specialists he served with during his law enforcement career to form his company, Mannes & Associates.Mannes entered law enforcement at age 18 as a Summer Special with the Long Beach (NY) Police Department and then became an Auxiliary Police Officer with the NYPD while attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice.At the early age 20, he became a Federal Officer with the U.S. Federal Protective Service, assigned to the New York Terrorist Trials Command during the trials of the 1st World Trade Center bombers, the blind Sheik, and the 1st U.S. Al-Qaeda indictments following the 1998 twin embassy bombings in Africa. He then moved to Washington, DC to join the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and perform street police work.In 2003, he became National Training Coordinator of the CAT Eyes Terrorist Awareness Program out of New Jersey, and trained community policing trainers in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New York, and Boston as well as conducting threat & vulnerability assessments for the Coach USA and NJ Transit bus systems. Later, in 2005, he became the lead Intelligence Analyst for the ATA/TSA Highway Information Sharing & Analysis Center at the U.S. Transportation Security Operations Center in Virginia. He was later promoted to the rank of Inspector with the Department of Homeland Security's Rail Infrastructure Group in the Baltimore/Washington office and a credentialing consultant for an Israeli-American homeland security technology firm.Aside from founding Mannes and Associates, AB Mannes now resides in Philadelphia where he oversees investigations and security policy for a national medical certifying board.
